Zoe McLellan is an American actress best known for her roles on the small screen. She has starred in numerous TV shows including TIP where she portrayed petty officer Jennifer Coates, Dirty Sexy Money, NCIS: New Orleans where she played the female lead, and the ABC political drama Designated Survivor, where she plays White House attorney Kendra Daynes. Zoe McLellan was born on November 6, 1974 in La Jolla, California. She grew up in Washington in a close-knit family. Her childhood included visits to the San Juan Islands in the summer, where they would go kayaking and have big family meals by the beach. McLellan has Irish roots and many of his family now reside in New Orleans.
From an early age, McLellan knew she wanted to be an actress. After fame, she recalled telling one of her aunts as a child that she “wanted to be on TV.” From the age of 7, she had started taking acting lessons and soon began auditioning for roles. She attended South Kitsap High School in Port Orchard, Washington, where she was homecoming queen in 1992.
McLellan started working at the age of 21 in 1995. professional career. She started out doing commercials and auditioning for television and film roles in Seattle. She would spend the early years of her career honing her craft in Seattle, preparing for the big stage – Hollywood.
Five years into her career, Zoe McLellan landed her first major fantasy film role, Dungeons & Dragons. The next year. she had her first major TV role in the legal drama, TIP. She joined the series as a recurring character in the 7th season, but was promoted to a main character in the 10th season.
From then on, McLellan seemed to focus more on television. A more notable role soon followed on the ABC primetime series, Dirty Sexy Money, which was unfortunately short-lived. Zoe McLellan continues to act today, but her career seemed a bit in jeopardy after news broke that ABC’s Designated Survivor was cancelled . However, four months later, Netflix and Entertainment One, who were both handling the show’s distribution, picked up the show for another season.
McLellan would have been a big hit if the show remained canceled, as she had to give up her role on NCIS and move to Toronto, Canada, where the intended victim was killed.
The resettlement also brought her to court as she was sued by her ex-husband, actor Jean-Pierre Guy Gillain, who accused her of abducting their child from Canada. Luckily for McLellan, the court ruled in her favor, saying that moving for work did not mean she was taking their child away. Gillain had thought it was his way of distancing the kid from him. He pays child support of about $4,000 a month.
McLellan and Gillain married in February 2012 and separated two years later in 2014 and the divorce was finalized in 2016.
