Pedro Morales, the WWE Hall of Famer who became the first heavyweight wrestling champion to win atriple crown in WWE history, has died. He was 76. Hugo Savinovich, aformer World Wrestling Federation (WWF) announcer, took to Facebook to confirm his death and pay tribute to him.

Savinovich didn't disclose the cause of death of the late wrestling champion but Morales reportedly was suffering from Parkinson’s disease in his later years.

According to CBS Sports, he began his wrestling career in 1959 and was with the WWF from 1970-75.

He was famously known for his February 1971 bout, where he had defeated Ivan Koloff at Madison Square Garden. He won WWWF heavyweight championship title at the time.
